TIROL IN WINTER

Tyrol is a true vacation dream for all those who love the magic of the snowy mountains and the variety of winter activities. Around Innsbruck you will find several very easily accessible ski resorts.

But also off the slopes there are numerous possibilities to explore the magical winter landscape. Tobogganing, cross-country skiing, ice skating, freeriding, all this and much more awaits you. You prefer to take it a little easier? Then be sure to take a winter hike through deeply snow-covered valleys and enjoy the silence of nature.

Our top 3 insider tips in winter:

  • Take a guided snowshoe hike in the surrounding area. Experienced guides will bring you closer to this beautiful winter sport and at the same time you will discover the untouched nature of Tyrol.
  • Visit one of the many Christmas markets in the run-up to Christmas. Enjoy a cup of hot punch, stroll through the alleys and be enchanted by the sound of Christmas brass music.
  • Towards the end of winter, the so-called “Figln” takes place on Innsbruck’s Nordkette. If you happen to be visiting at this time, don’t miss this fun spectacle! On very short skis you will ski from the summit to the Seegrube in the soft spring snow. Not so easy. But lots of laughter is guaranteed!
